I just get the next available masseuse when I schedule so.. it's not an explicit choice I've made. I just get whoever they assign.

While I would prefer a lady (some of the most devastating massages I've gotten have come from a blind woman, a fitness competitor, etc.) I was nearly broken by a Russian dude in Tel Aviv. Our ex wives scheduled a massage for two of us.
The masseuses came down to get us from the salon area, the there was a typical 30-40s lady that brought us upstairs, and took my buddy. I turned the corner into the room and saw a 250lb bald Russian dude. FFS, there was no gay that was going to happen when he was beating me so hard, the table was creaking in a not good way. I don't remember how I got back to the hotel, I was just "WTF just happened." I don't know how I made it down the stairs.
And whenever I get my fancy arse haircuts, and they do the forearm massage, I'm the guy that says go as hard as you can. That Russian tho.
