Friends who are consistently late are self-centered and often control freaks.

Those are not traits that will go away easily.

Stop planning around them. "We'll be at Ruby Tuesday for 7. See you there."

Generally, I've stopped giving a frick about anybody. It's much easier on me.

You mean like being 3 hours late for a date?

If my wife says Thanksgiving dinner at 1:00pm those present sit down and begin to eat at 1:00pm.

The late ones always have some excuse for their lateness.

Wife says, grab a plate, I did not think you were coming.

Grandad nailed it.

Whether work, home or social you proceed as if they were not coming.

At work- employees who are consistently late will get a meeting with me, a second time will not be as forgiving- a pattern will cause you to lose your job.

At home- holiday meals always present relatives who are late- we start on time and without them.

Social- grant a few minutes grace and then go.

My dad taught me "Leave early enough that if you have a flat tire you have time to change it, clean up and arrive on time"

Punctuality is becoming a lost art- one of my pet peeves

Mrs. True is notorious.

So is Mrs Prez.

It baffles me how she used to wait to get ready. I mean, if it takes you a hour to get ready, why on earth would you wait until an hour before a dinner reservation to start?
