He means as easy to obtain. Heroin has been on the rise the past few years and even more so the past 6 or so months. There are articles about it being the new epidemic we face due to the use of it increasing so much.

Not to mention the life of a special operator breaks you down physically. Would be easy to get hooked on painkillers, I imagine. Not insinuating that's the case here at all, just that it's not outside the realm of imagination for a guy to get dependent on Oxys or whatever, and from there to H.

I would imagine it would be even easier for someone spending a lot of time in a place like Afghanistan, where heroin goes for cents on the US dollar, to make that leap.
