Did a little day trip to Auburn today since I was in the area with work. That place is terrible. Toomer's Corner is garbage. So commercialized the entire place has no culture whatsoever.

And you a penis sir. If you don't understand what is going on around you, small minded people shut it all down like this.

It's certainly no Baton Rouge, but it does have a growing culture problem

It's kinda hard to judge auburn in the middle of the summer with all the construction going on. I'm an LSU fan but, auburn to me generally has an awesome campus during the fall.

It'll take a week of showering to get the stench off.

What does this even mean? Does it need to have all residential areas?

Are you sure you went? Whole area under construction and blocked for traffic. I doubt you got out and walked on foot.

What exactly did you expect to see in the dead of summer when school is out? I have been to a couple of football games there and always enjoyed the place..

If winning and playing every single player on my team is an ethics violation so be it.

I parked in front of some bar I believe was called 1716 went and had some lemonade at Toomer's Corner Drugstore which was terrible and walked around all the gates to the trees. I still stand by my assessment.

Architecture, local flavor, etc. None of which require school to be in session. 75% of the campus is new construction trying hard to look regal and there is zero local flavor it's completely commercialized.

I have to agree that niether of the alabama schools has any particular uniqueness to their culture...LSU and Ole Miss probably top that category. however, if 75% of the campus is new and build in some kind of classical style, that is a pretty good start. Outside of campus, Auburn is a pretty small town (about the size of Alexandria), so you really can't expect much from the town itself...
