You know, I'm a big fan of cycling for both fitness and transportation. But as I've aged in New Orleans I hate them more each day. It's not just your unemployed crackhead riding a stolen bike 5 mph swerving in the middle of the road. Those guys I can understand to an extent--they don't give a frick if you hit them because their lives suck so bad that death is an OK prospect. If they get hit and live, they probably can get a couple of fills of Percocet and maybe even a $10k offer from the driver's insurance. It's the fricking hipsters on their fixies or 7-speeds who demand on occupying the whole lane (which is their lawful right), but also don't have helmets or lights or stop at stop signs and ride the wrong way down the one ways, then slap your hood when you pull out into the street because you didn't see them coming from the wrong way at 10 pm. The crackheads won't ever follow the rules, but I hope the frickers who know better and still break the law get hit by uninsured drivers and have to bear the cost of their own medical care for decades. Go back to Williamsburg, you bearded frickheads.
