Customer service question

I just had to call my online banking service due to a password issue and got Melvin.
Shortly afterwards I called my internet provider att and got,
Guess who? Melvin
Question. Have I lost my mind or do these customer service people work for multiple companies?

Could be two (2) different Melvins?

Was it the same guy? Or are you wondering if it was the same guy because they had the same name? If it's the former then you answered your own question.

The odds of 2 different Melvins is off the charts

Call the police station. See if he is there too

Melvin is a pretty common name in India.

I'm almost positive that it was the same guy

Pretty sure Melvin just cleaned you out.

Yes, some call centers provide support for different businesses. I suppose it's possible some reps may work cross-company as well.

My buddy who lives in Memphis is a full time employee of support.com. They run customer service and tech support for a bunch of companies. Most notably Comcast (or Satan, as they are known nationally.)
He logs on to a computer, puts in a Bluetooth ear piece and the calls start rolling in from multiple companies customers.
He hates every second of it.

Crazy world we live in.

Yeah. It's definitely possible - especially since they are both tech support related calls. The good news is that if Melvin is handling multiple accounts, he's probably above average for a CSR.
