Our older kenmore stackable washer went out and it looks to be an expensive fix. The dryer still works fine but it seems like in order to stack them they need to be a set. Our washing area is narrow so we are forced to stack, so it looks like we will have to get both a new washer and dryer.

Anyone bought any lately and found a good deal? I was leaning toward LG, samsung or whirlpool.

The OT has no idea what stackable washer/dryers are.
All of our laundry rooms are a minimum 100 square feet.

ETA: personally I'd stay away from a front loader. you can get top loading stackables.

The smell. Front loaders tend to create mold. Most people that have them hate them. Can't add any more clothing after a load starts, etc.

This. I've had LG front loaders since 07. Worst decision we ever made. Clothes never smell fresh.

Wish I would have bought top loaders instead as well. Plus you wouldn't need those damn stands.

Thread a while back, almost everyone recommended speedqueen.

We have Kenmore elites and they do well. They haven't molded yet in 3 years. I think the trick is to not over load them and leave the door open after use.

we were in lowes last night and they were some units on sale, a ref with freezer at the bottom - newer style I guess was $1500 - it was a refurbished model that was repaired under manf warranty.
I hope this helps.

Buy old style if they are still available. The newer and flashier models are shite and break down with a high frequency.

If you can wait until Labor Day weekend you should find a sale.

Most people are retarded. Leave the door cracked and let it air out. Not exactly rocket science
