I hope this falls through and Cuba remains a purely Canadian destination. White trash Americans ruin beaches in the Caribbean.

The United States will also ease travel restrictions across all 12 categories currently envisioned under limited circumstances in American law, including family visits, official visits, journalistic, professional, educational and religious activities, and public performances, officials said. Ordinary tourism, however, will remain prohibited.

kind of sad ... always wanted to visit cuba before the embargo was lifted ... they might not let it turn into a disgusting resort island for americans, but i doubt it ...

I may seriously try to go sometime next spring. Would be nice to be one of the first to visit after the lifting of the embargo, but now's not a good time.

Congress has to lift embargo, so you may be waiting awhile for tourist travel.

However, if you can find some officially allowed reason to go to Cuba, have fun!

In Mexico, central America and the Caribbean I agree.

It is a handmade product and the quality is much better now than in 99/00.

That is your opinion. Everyone has different tastes. I can't stand pickles. Maybe you enjoy them.

Furthermore, your sentiments are not shared by the rest of the world where they have open access to Cuban cigars.

To me, nothing beats a Cuban Bolivar.

Yep. Saw that this plan didn't include any easing of tourist travel restrictions, but hopefully we start moving in that direction. Recent polls show majority support. I knew a guy who married a Cuban national and was able to legally travel there through a third country. Said it's (obviously) not the paradise of the Godfather days and is quite run down, but still a nice trip. I'd honestly be interested in visiting all of the traditionally off-limits places just to see if the people are generally as normal as I believe them to be (their governmetns notwithstanding).
