. Which is good for the offshore and shelf. We don't need fracking.

That's an ignorant comment.

OPEC is making sure that oil will not go above $70 in order to eliminate fracking. Oil is not going to $100 anytime soon. Bank on it.

If you're a lawyer, engineer, or accountant you should be able to find work somewhere else.

Maybe some of you oil field guys should have gotten an education while you've been laid off and gone into a different industry rather than crying and praying for oil to spike again.

Just for the record I don't pray for oil to spike (stupid volatility is stupid), but I won't cry if it happens. In regards to an education, I have a Mechanical Engineering degree, I think I'll be okay. And going into a different industry was certainly an option, but again, I think I'll be quite alright. And if the industry just goes away, maybe I'll go and take someone else's job.

But I tell you what, I can't wait for beef prices to basically be free, screw farmers. Can't wait for computer software to cost a nickel, I certainly don't care about IT nerds. I feel like cars should all cost $500, and the only reason I pay more is those damned auto-union baws!!!

I'm not asking for a handout. I don't want anyone to pay more than what it's worth so I can have a job. But realize when you eventually go back to paying more, it's not because we are greedy. It's because it's where supply and demand said it should be. Supply is too high right now, but it is that way "slightly" artificially (by artificially, they are not listening to the S&D curve and continuing to produce). It was a tactic. No supplier wants to produce that these prices, but certain countries are doing it to intentionally hurt other markets. Well it's gotten to the point that they can no longer take it and you are seeing it turn back around. You can't say that anyone "artificially" increased prices too much, because any supplier is going to get as much money as they possibly can. If the buyer buys it, then it's fair. You have the ability to reel it back in from the demand side. And guess what, you guys all kept filling up your trucks and boats when it was high. As far as the affect on the economy, I think it's a wash to be honest. Money spent is good whether it's on energy or food. It's definitely hard on certain local economies, but in general it's a wash.

What I saved in fuel, I spent on health insurance.

I disagree, the shelf will become an more viable option once Trump shuts down fracking.

You realize we are fracking a whole hell of a lot of these shelf wells. And deepwater wells. Pretty much every well. It's on the rare side in the gulf of mexico that we don't pump sort of proppant above fracture pressure (unless it's a disposal or injector).

Demand is still too low, prices will remain well below 60.

What kind of douche cheers for people losing their livelihoods so they can save a few bucks?

The oilfield will never be the same though. Every industry has to trim the fat sometimes I guess.
