You're probably right. Crossfit is probably going to lose this one.

If they do every white person should claim they feel like a black person.

Also as an upper class white male with no children I often feel like a poor person with 10 kids. So ill take some welfare please.

Also I turn 26 this year. And i feel like a senator. So ill take the health care plan that the us gov gives the senators for free.

Thanks

I guess they should put in a DNA rule for their contest. You have to compete in whatever division you damn dna says you should be in.

If this thing wins 2.5 million I might have to out on a dress and try my luck with a lawsuit. I really don't even get where these numbers come from. The thing couldn't compete in a stupid crossfit games so they are owed 2.5 million. Ridiculous.

The only solution is to eliminate gender divisions in athletics and put everyone in the same competition. Everyone wants equality, right?

Who watches women's sports, anyway?

I am not civil law expert but doesn't crossfit have a right to create their own rules and regulations regrading entry to the competition?

I think CrossFit should just create various sub-categories. They could have a transgender category for post-op wackadoos. They could have a transgender category for pre-op wackadoos. You know, the ones who have all the male parts but really "feel" like women. Next category could be for those competitors who are "gender neutral" for those who despite what is between their legs, really don't identify with a particular gender. Then we could have just a "wildcard" sub-category for those who may have been born human beings, but really see themselves more akin to space-apes, or pastrami sandwiches.

Take the winners from each sub-group and put them in a battle royale for the ultimate cross-fit champ. Equality is served!!!!

Bingo! You want equality? Here it is! Everybody is in the same boat. Don't bitch when a 6'4" 240lb former college football player wins every year, you wanted to be equal.

it really should just end here...

Except that the science doesn't really add up the way they want it to.

This individual has undergone about 10 years of hormone therapy along with gender reassignment surgery. The surgery is really only the cosmetic aspect of a sex change. And 10 years of hormone therapy is going to alter the physiology of an individual.

And the concept of transgendered people in athletics isn't a new one. There are court cases from the 70s that deal with the issue. See Renee Richards v. U.S. Tennis Association (1977)

When I read that title, I just knew it had to be something California related.

Crossfit people are crazy. Don't you think getting a sex change to get a competitive advantage in the crossfit games is a little extreme?

From what I've seen, based on viewing crossfit competitions on ESPN on occasion, they have allowed men to compete in the women's competition for a while.

There are probably not enough studies to show that even with hormones a transgender woman would be taking, she would not have an unfair advantage over female-born athletes.

hormones do not change your whole body genome. get off those hormones, even 10 years down the line, and things go back to its natural state over time.
