This happened in a novel that I read a while back. It would be interesting to see where it really originated if that's at all possible.

ETA: NVM. I see that it tries to explain the origins.

I had a recent dream that I died and went to hell...vivid experience in hell. I remember every detail, from feeling burning fire, to getting ripped apart and put back together, cockroaches pouring out of my mouth.

Woke up not in my bed, but in another room of the house on the floor clutching my rifle, fully loaded, across my chest. Apparently I slept walked, got my rifle out of complete fear, and loaded it (I keep it unloaded in the safe). Don't remember ever getting out of bed or getting the gun. It was a weird feeling.

The black eyed kids sounds like autistic children or Asperger's. The blank stares and monotone voices are typical of such disorders.

The sleep walking part is more terrifying than anything else.

Do you have a problem with that or was that the first time you'd ever done it?

I've had a less scary but still somewhat disturbing sleep disturbance. Mine usually happens when I'm very exhausted and take a short nap. It's like I'm stuck halfway between REM sleep and being awake. Last time it happened I had just come back from a morning deer hunt. I took a mid morning power nap when I was alone at our camp. Thought I heard my name called from the other room. I dreamed that some invisible force had pulled the covers off of me. Woke up with the covers pulled down to my feet. I didn't know if I had dreamed it and pushed the sheets off myself or if they were pulled off. Kinda freaky.

You goin get raked....

It's called sleep paralysis. I get it all the time. I made the rake my bitch.
