Coworkers or acquaintances who NEVER say hello first

They wont make a peep until you say something to them first. They usually reply with over the top niceties and try to act like they were really focused or preoccupied. (ps - I'm talking about people who do it day after day not a one-time thing).

Yea I ignore them most of the time once I have them pegged. You can feel their discomfort as you walk by as they silently beg for your greeting.

Most of the time it happens at bars. Even after eye contact they won't say hi. Phug em

I don't talk to them because I don't want to talk to anyone and I assume they are the same way. They are model coworkers to me.

I rarely speak first. Maybe a head nod.
But I don't over compensate when I do speak.
I just find it silly and awkward to have to say hey each time or come up with something like "hey again" or "are you following me" or "we have to quit meeting like this" or some worn out small talk, if you pass the same person 4, 5, 6 times in the hall in a day.

I'm the ask first guy, typically. So I understand exactly what you mean, man. What I've come to understand is that you have no idea what is going on with someone. Just do your thing and don't worry about it.

If eye contact is made and they speak, I would usually speak even it is just "hey" when I would see so.eone for the first time.
But I wouldnt go into too much h detail. I'm not asking them about their weekend or the weather or any shite like that. A simple, "hey, how are you", or "good morning" or just a nod and a smile I guess. I don't just blow past people without doing something.

There's a dietician at work like that, known her for 20 years.. Doesn't make a peep when you pass her in the hallway... Very awkward...
