The next question—is the main pathology caused by the Covid virus itself or an aberrant immune respone—cytokines/ARDS/hypercoagulable state?

Cytokines. Not an aberrant immune response, a normal one.

To the OP, I got the Pfizer, and everyone I work closely with had the same symptoms: 12 hours after shot headache starts, then body aches and chills (flu like symptoms). No one had a fever. All of us premedicated with 1g Tylenol (I took mine at hour 11 after the shot). Body aches and generally feeling shitty lasted 24-36 hours after symptom onset, then it was over.

Just had my second dose Wednesday. Had fever and chills last night but felt fine today. But I’ve been preparing. Vitamins, aspirin lots of fluids. Good luck

No. This is a perfect example of what has gotten us into the mess we are in right now!
You stand up for what you believe, because that is what YOU BELIEVE.
Not because you want other people to think you believe what they do.

You are talking to a teacher it appears (sms). What if a teacher believes in socialism/communism? Do you still encourage them to stand up for what they believe in? Or do you just want them to do their job and teach the assigned curriculum?

Don't worry. From what we are seeing it usually takes a year to kill an elderly person. You are young so it might take 2.

I had basically no side effects after my 1st dose. 2nd dose is in about 10 days. I'm not expecting much for it either. I'm a normal 30 yo. No health concerns, but work in health care.

We've given around 500 or doses directly to patients, 1500 or so indirectly through our partners.

The side effects range like others have said. Lots of 70/80 year old's have told me they experienced nothing after 1st and 2nd dose. Others have had mild to moderate and only a couple that i would classify as severe.

Most common reported:
Muscle soreness/weakness/tightness that ranges from just the arm to entire body, headache, low grade fever, chills, malaise, lethargy

It does seem to last somewhere between 24-36 hours. Probably 99% of patients that had side effects all say they feel a major difference between day 2 and day 3. Day 3 is back to normal for patients with mild side effects. Anything more than mild, day 3 they feel way better than day 2. Then day 4-5 they are back 100%.

Actually had a guy yesterday that was scheduled by his family so didn't know exactly what he was there for.

After a few questions i was amazed to find out he had never heard of the coronavirus or covid-19.

He was probably upper 70s and definitely of sound mind. He is just the type that doesn't concern himself with what's going on in the world. Basically does alot of hunting and fishing and staying to himself.

I was somewhat envious of his lifestyle and state of mind honestly.

Only had the first shot (moderna) but woke up shivering uncontrollably, nauseous and congested. That lasted about 4 hours then done. Felt fine after that. It was worse than when I had corona. Arm was sore for a couple days too. A little worried to get the second.

You should discuss the severe symptoms from the 1st shot with your doctor. They say if you have a severe reaction to the 1st shot, then don't get the 2nd one.

They also say don't get vaccinated if you are allergic to PEG (polyethylene glycol).

No symptoms on first Moderna shot. Had 2nd shot this past Tuesday and on Wednesday arm was a bit sore but not too bad. Did have low grade fever and just general aches most of the day, took Tylenol and felt just fine by Thursday.

Those already exposed to Corona can have more severe reactions to the vaccine.

What were your symptoms after the first shot?

I had the first shot Thursday evening. Felt nothing after and on Friday until Friday night. A bit sore now. No other symptoms. Wife had the shot at the same time and immediately she felt a burn and her arm hurt. By Friday morning some slight swelling and soreness. The folks that gave the vaccine recommended Tylenol or Alieve first. Advil second.

No symptoms at all with the first one for me except a little arm soreness for a couple days.

I received the second one a couple weeks ago around 10am. Felt fine all day. Worked out that night. Went to bed feeling fine. Work up about 3am feeling achy/febrile. No cough or upper respiratory symptoms. Took a couple alleve and didn’t really sleep much after that. For most of the morning I didn’t feel well but by lunch I was fine with the exception of being tired from not having a good night of sleep. No symptoms after that.

I had the Pfizer one btw
