because you can't smell alcohol on someone's breath or see bottles all over the car

I struggle hell even if the guy was not drunk that i wouldnt kill the guy. Then as stated what if the guy couldnt see them until it was too late. I think maybe he saw the guy was drunk and that set him over the edge maybe.

Well, this will pretty much make sure that anyone drunk that hits someone will take their chances running from now on in Texas.
frick even if you aren't drunk, maybe you should get the frick out of there and call the cops when you get somewhere safe.

head, you don't have kids. that's obvious.
but for a second..just a second..picture standing next to your sons as some drunk fricker slams into them and their blood shoots all over you.
then you attempt to perform CPR on their dying bodies as dickwad is over there slurring his speech "haaaaay..what?....did i make it hooooome?"
i can easily see myself temporarily going insane.
eta probably a multiple offender. if anything this guy not only saved the tax payers money but possibly preventing him from killing again the next time he drove drunk.

I was just agreeing with you man.
Unless you claim it wasn't murder. Then we are at a disagreement.
Emotionally charged or not, it was still murder. His kids being killed doesn't make his retaliation OK, though it should lower his charges/sentence.

It sucks but you can't just execute someone anytime you want. It's a law for a reason.
I wouldn't be upset if he was found not guilty but I expect some type of punishment.

the guy just executed his kids.
drunk drivers kill all the time & get off with a slap on the wrist

I don't think you know what execution is.

Couldn't you claim negligence on the father's part before his kids were "executed"?
I sympathize with the guy, and maybe I would've done the same, but there are consequences. If he did kill the guy, which is just speculation at this point because there doesn't seem to be any evidence, wouldn't it make more sense to own up to your actions believing you were in the right rather than cover it up?

true. a bullet to the head or lethal injection is way more humane than running over 2 kids and letting them wriggle around and bleed to death.
eta this guy will get off. no WAY they can find 12 jurors without kids and speaking as a dad..i would find him not guilty and would not waver in my opinion.

Did he kill the guy that killed his sons? If he did, and there is proof of that, then yeah he would obviously be exceptionally easy to find guilty.
I'd give him the tip of the hat and a wag of the finger though.

at the scene.
guy runs over his kids.
he gets down on knees and gives CPR to both kids..they die.
he leaves the scene, grabs his 357, returns and blows the guys brains out.
seems appropriate.
