Cost of drywall and installation removal

Is there any other cost that I should be thinking of involved with demolition?

for what? flooding?

Insulation...for sure, and the sheathing you have behind your cladding may need to be replaced also, might be fine just letting it air out

Demo isn't too bad, it's the domino effect that adds up.

Anything that touches the drywall will have to be removed and reinstalled.

Demolition of flooring
Replacement of flooring
Demolition of gypsum board
Insulation
Replacement of gypsum board
Finishing and painting the new gypsum board
Base boards if you have them

I know what needs to be taken out. Someone said I can charge my insurance for what it would have cost for a company to remove the drywall. Is there a general price per sqft cost for demo 4ft high in a 1,500sqft house?

Frank town, generally speaking you're going to need an estimate or invoice from a contractor for a general reimbursement from insurance. Or you can have your adjuster prepare it and make an offer, and accept it if you're good with it.

Are you planning on doing it yourself?

Yes doing it myself. I got 2' they told me to pull out 4'. Right outside of Ponchatoula.

You know to take plenty of pictures before hand right? Make darn sure they can tell its your house and all the rooms, and how high the water got.
