The Dillard's Outlet is legit, though. I can stock up on dress shirts and suit pants for cheap.

That place is something else. My mom dragged me there when I was home during christmas. It's like a flea market in there, but they had some good things for sale that you would pay 4x for at the mall of louisiana dillar's.

I heard the people who bought it a few years back are considering turning it into office space

Part of the mall is already one of those career colleges. It seems to be the only real use for the space.

I found a nice tweed Hart, Schaffner, Marx sports coat there for under $100 a few years back. If I'm in BR i would go back to see if I can find anymore gems.

I think if you cater to your clientele then it could be a viable retail outlet. Weave shops, Payaday loans, nail salons, sneaker shops, etc. Maybe move a grocery store into the anchor outlet. I really think its still decent alternative for the residents of North Baton Rouge.

Have you been there lately? That is what is left.

I remember when Cortana was the go to and Bon Marche was "the other mall".

Most of my wardrobe over the last three years have come from the Dillard's Clearance Center at Esplanade or Cortana.

You have to shop out of season. A few weeks ago I bought 8 pairs of dress shorts for $2.99 each. I've gotten swim trunks from there for $1.09 each and nice pullover polo-type shirts, with dri-fit material, for like $2 each. The only thing I have trouble finding there is dress pants.

The only way that mall is being reinvented, is by turning it into a server farm for Amazon

FIFY. You could put that thing next door to Bocage and people would still rather shop online.

the mall needs to reinvent themselves in order to be viable.

Take a look at what the Cloverleaf mall in Hattiesburg had to do to stay alive after Turtle Creek showed up in the 90s - most of their old mall is now office spaces and storage.
