Same crew out there every day. I have to do the awkward look at my phone to avoid eye contact as they stand by my window. Why don't the cops clean this up?

Also, do you think there is like a begger boss that they report to? Do they have a schedule on what times they get the corner? The others just politely sit on the bench and wait their turn. Seems unfair that one person gets the rush hour traffic and others have to watch them collect.

You think its a coincidence that there is never more than one beggar there at a time and you dont see the same one more than once every two weeks?

Ones on the bench are legit waiting on the bus.

It's the same ones every week. Sometimes they are holding a sign. Sometimes they're on the bench. They swap out.

SWB told the police they could only harass the white ones, but when they went to make one move, he claimed to actually be a hexadecaroon.

I've always assumed this

they have weekly meetings near the waffle house on college to go over schedules

I tried staring at them once, because I got tired with the awkward "make no eye contact" routine, and the guy walked right to me and tried to open my door.

Wasn't carrying at that time, but have since wondered just what my rights would be.

And the wheelchair guy is a fricking a-hole.

College and Bennington are the ones that get me awkward. The dude in the wheelchair with the twisted leg. He will give you the drunk evil eye if you are sitting at the light next to him.

They are too organized to not have a ring leader.

A few months back we discussed this group in a different thread. One of the posters said there's a guy who coordinates them and lets them stay at his place in exchange for a cut of the take.

I tend to believe that there's something like that going on.

I drive past every single day, and there is someone there every single day, at every hour of the day, and it's never the same person from one day to the next. They are rotated.

I saw one guy get out of a 2000 4Runner, he parked it by Firehouse subs.. casually walked out and started holding a sign. Dumbass...At least go the gas station first, then walk out to a fresh set of cars

There's the one guy that doesn't even look homeless. Like at least put in some effort and dress down a bit. Pretty confident he's the boss. And you know he's smashing the one woman.

I don't have an awkward feeling when I see them. If I am stopped at a red light and they are passing by, I will look at them. I am not going to give them shite, but frick them. If they really need the money, there are jobs they can find to earn money. Its just easier and it pays more to beg.

Not me. At least not any more. When I was younger (in my 20s), bums made me feel super awkward and I had a hard time finding a way to respond. I never game them cash but I always felt like I had to make up some lie, such as "I don't have anything but my debit card on me" or some such.

Now, I either straight up ignore them or tell them no to their face with full eye contact. I bust my arse for my money and I'm don't feel the least bit shamed or guilty for not buying them booze.

I'm not sure if it's the same group but people are living under the bridge further up College Drive. You can see their camp from the Fed-ex Office parking lot.

Since these MoFo's like walking the streets, the city should hire a bunch of these frickers to clean the litter on the street. Give them a dollar for every 30 gallon trash bag they fill up with trash and soda cans. They obviously love the outdoors so have a few of these dimwits chopping wood or laying brick at a construction site. These frickers don't want a job. They want a handout. It an occupation for many. They laugh at you hardworking folks.

Ok I'm familiar with the wheelchair guy at college and Bennington. He is an a-hole btw.

But lately I have seen this crew of three or four guys wearing bright colored shirts. Not a homeless look. They seem to be giving out business cards or something. Anybody know what they are selling or if they're seeking donations for something specific?
