I’m on 4 teams and tennis is a big reason why I can’t wear contacts. My ophthalmologist is also a tennis player and strongly advised against contacts with my astigmatism on the court. Besides the major depth perception issues I had, sweat/sunscreen running into my eyes, contact movement during play and actually losing a contact in the middle of a game made glasses a much better option for me. I wear Rx amber lense Costas during daylight and clear, anti-fog, anti-glare lense glasses are night or indoor.
My problem with glasses is if they shift at all, it throws my timing off as I swing. I'm in Atlanta and play year round ALTA, USTA 4.0 etc. Both my brothers play just as much as I do and they wear contacts as well. During the summer, I have the occasionaly issue with pollen physically getting into my contacts, but I usually wear polarized sunglasses which helps with that.
Have you tried any of the toric soft contact lenses that can correct astigmatism? If you haven't, it's definitely worth a trial.

I've been using biofinity toric monthly lenses for years. They work great, no issues. Just need to find the right lense and then stick with them.
Had an optometrist change my brand a few years back. The new ones were uncomfortable after a few hours. I had issues taking them off too and ended up scratching the cornea of my eye. Would not recommend, recurring burning sensation every 5-10 seconds the rest of the day and could not open either eye.

went to some Biofinity Toric lenses my doctor recommended 2-3 years ago and really like them.

I haven't read the other comments, but I've been wearing Biofinity Torics for years. (maybe a decade) They are thin and comfortable. You replace them once a month.
Get your Dr. to give you some samples, but also take some time to make sure. Some people try contacts and quickly give them up. That's not enough time for your eyes and you to get use to putting them in and taking them out.
I cant stand glasses. I've been wearing contacts for around 25 years. I wear them from wake u pto bedtime and rarely have issues.
You cant sleep in them but I don't mind that.

I have astigmatism in both eyes and I wear soft disposable contacts every day with no issues. I use Acuvue Moist.
Gotta be moist.

I have astigmatism...-1.5 in one and -2.25 in the other. I have sensitive eyes and the only brand that works for me and is comfortable is the aquacomfort plus toric. I get the dailies because i fear tearing a new set of monthly trying to take them out after drinking or forgetting solution and they dry up.
