I was METNAV (airfield systems maintenance) in the AF from 92-96. Basically any electronic equipment sans the radars that was on the flightline I had to repair, inspect, and maintain it. The fact that I stayed 4 years and turned down a bonus to reenlist should tell you all you need to know. I am not going to knock the AF and to tell you not to do it, because not all my experiences went bad, heck I made friends there that I still keep in touch with today. I can always fall back on working as an electronics technician if my current career fizzles out.
I will say this: being enlisted sucks. If you have a degree that can allow you to get commissioned as an officer, I highly recommend it.

Wait volod works for DOTD now? I must've missed the last thread

He supposedly started the job last week. Yes, he has one fricking week on his first job out of college and now he's talking this crap. But, he's "content" at the job where he's barely learned where the coffee maker is.

I was in navy nuke program and it was the hardest thing I ever tried. Didn't last long there before I failed out which is why I went avionics. Lol. Been doing avionics for 20+ years now. Fun job!
