I have read multiple postings on this board and in other social media referencing the lack of educational opportunities of blacks.

My only problem with this statement is that it is not objectively clear. Blacks are in the same public schools as whites. The only discrepancies are the private institutions (which are for-profit for all intents and purposes)

As for post secondary, I have yet to see a vocational or collegiate institution turn me down based solely on race. My qualifications and recommendations from primarily white professors has helped me progressed in my educational endeavors.

If we are speaking solely on educational opportunity, then blacks have the same opportunities as whites.

It should be noted that there is a significant difference in educational standards across institutions. However, blacks can understand the basic knowledge on healthcare (i.e. drugs and other issues) , responsible use of firearms, legal policies, and having a mutual respect for authority

But are they in the same private schools?

ETA: For all you ignorant people...they aren't.

ETA2: Y'all are stupid as frick. I went to private school and graduated with 3 black kids out of 70.

Blacks have more educational opportunities BECAUSE of their race. .

just another excuse to blame it on something else. They all have the opportunity to go to school and make something out of their lives and break the cycle.

Blacks have more opportunities than other races, not fewer. A black high school student with above average grades and ACT score can get a free ride to far more universities than an identical white or Asian student. That is actual, quantifiable institutional racism in favor of blacks.

I predict that the upvote/downvote ratio you attain herein will appear materially different from your average and median UV/DV scores for OPs I have tracked in my database.

I can tell you as a teacher who taught in inner city Memphis that these all-black schools get more state and federal funding than the white schools do. The teachers are paid more, they have more technology in the classroom and better equipment overall. It is the home life of the blacks that keeps them falling behind. Schools have children 1/3 of the day 1/2 days of the year. Where they are the other 5/6 of the time is the difference.

It's a complete horseshite argument and claim. School in La is free from pre-k - college. The fact is that many kids piss away the gift they are being given. I cannot tell you how many of my students were convenced that they were going to be pro athletes or rappers. Many told me to my face that they didn't need to understand 6th grade math. You can guess how their stories end.

Unfortunately, prisons are seen as the new grad schools for many young black men.

FIFY
There are no "historically white colleges" for us to attend. And a black man can attend any college that a white man can, so technically speaking, there are more opportunities.

ETA: Can you imagine having scholarships dedicated to only Caucasian students? Man, wouldn't that be nice.

That wasn't my experience at LSU

Of course I was in electrical engineering so most of the black people I met were really bright

Not sure where you get this 35% number from

Eh I don't know if that's true. You can't tell me the majority of public high schools are on the same playing field as most Catholic schools in New Orleans or even in Baton Rouge.

Also, even here in NYC, where you live determines your school district. If you can't afford to live in a good school district, you don't go to a good school. It's economic discrimination that's worse than most places in the south.
