Yet they are also opening a small office in Texas for the CC's coffee house leg of the business.

quote:

Community Coffee is planning a $4 million expansion at its Baton Rouge headquarters that will include technology upgrades and 15 new jobs, according to a state tax incentive application the company has filed.

Of the $4 million, about $3.8 million will be steered toward machinery and equipment costs for the company’s Partridge Lane headquarters, according to Community Coffee’s application for the state’s Quality Jobs program, which provides rebates on payroll and capital expenditures for companies that create new jobs. The rest of the sum will go to building, material, labor and engineering costs.

The Baton Rouge coffee maker also opened an office in Frisco, Texas in June.

Salaries aren't factored into the expansion costs.

I saw that in the edit, but the fact that it remains a funny little tongue in cheek jab, is worth it

You're potentially looking at this all wrong. If it's a nice facility, the Chamber of Commerce and economic development types should be pimping how cheap it is to do business there.

If it's a nice facility, they should plaster that price tag on every picture of it.

Community Coffee doesn't even own CC's coffee house. It was considered a huge failure so they sold that part of their business off. Now it has become successful and they are kicking themselves in the arse. What's even worse? They don't even supply the coffee to them. At least Al Copeland was smart enough to contract the new owners to get their chicken/spices from him when he sold Popeyes/Churches off.

I wonder what kind of tax benefit they are getting and how long it will take for the income tax of those new jobs to pay it back.

My guess is it will take 1,000 years to offset and CC opened that office in Texas to scare the politicians enough to ensure that Louisiana the tax incentive was granted.
