I have a friend who is a BR teacher. Several years ago she was doing roll call & called out “Nicholas”, the kid didn’t answer. Finally he stood up and said his name was pronounced “Nie-shoe-lahs”.

I'm pretty sure Geoffrey is the original way how to spell the name. It's an old hebrew name I believe.

I had a teacher in high school who spelled his name Thom. I know a lady who pronounces her name as La-tish-uh but spells it Letitia. When I see that all I can think of is La-tit-tia.
