So who's at fault then?

everyone

but the Comcast employees could have prevented the multiple accidents with an extended safety zone considering the circumstances

this is so simple, I can't believe people are arguing this

There just seem to be a few people in this thread who refuse to admit that poor driving and awareness caused the escalation of this situation and daily these exact conditions lead to injury and death.

I have never denied that the drivers have fault

But if you are working on public roads, you do everything possible to mitigate poor driving habits

the way the Comcast workers just blew off what was happening around them is indefensible

are Comcast workers union workers? because they acted like every union worker I have ever dealt with, only doing exactly what their job was described as and not doing anything beyond that

No one is arguing Comcast could have done more to possibly prevent it. However when the second truck pulls up and the guy pans it looks like the first truck had been gone for a little bit and there are twice as many cars "wrecked". I think the majority of people in this thread have just been arguing that the drivers are responsible for adapting their behavior to hazardous conditions, which many of these drivers did not do.

and no one has argued that the drivers did not have some fault as well

why are we arguing?

nobody adjusted for the hazardous conditions, that is the problem

Oh I agree, and not arguing that point. Both "sides" of this situation are wrong in different ways. Drivers not driving to the conditions, and the employee's for not taking proper steps to eliminate or decrease the effects they would have on the roadway.

Because I think we both took the others argument as an attempt to absolve the other party of fault. When apparently we were just building the case that every fricker in that video is an idiot.

I believe the cones out and spaces were correct and I'm not sure they were required to have a flag man. Now should they? Yes. And some attorney will represent these people and Comcast will settle because it is the route for them to go.

And the attitudes of the guys may be questionable but I can't say if I have some dickhead sticking a camera in my face like a stolen valor employee I wouldn't act the same. Actually I probably would have marsh stomped that douchebag and just let the Comcast legal team work it out. Everybody is Walter Cronkite these days.

Comcast about to pay a ton of money over this.
Comcast idiot employees about to lose their jobs just days before Christmas. Their kids will be so proud of daddy.
