Apply this logic to drinking, and yet, it's legal. If someone wants to get high or drunk and then go to work, they will, and they can get fired. No reason to treat these two things differently The type of person Who would show up to work high after legalized pot is the same person who was smoking dope before it was legal...and going to work. You don't magically create irresponsible people

I agree but one major difference is that there is no reliable test for acute MJ intoxication. Serum concentrations vary widely and may indicate impairment as far as 48 hrs after a single joint.

From a business owners perspective, the liability is frequently too high to have workers who knowingly use MJ vs. alcohol.

Not me. The bartender is off smoking every time I need a drink.

Nine million here, nine million there, pretty soon you're talking increased standard of living.

I would enjoy being able to smoke as much as anyone, but do you really think that legalizing weed is going to increase the standard of living for the people of colorado?...

the money that is gained in taxes is actually coming out of the pockets of coloradans...I am really doubting that the extra government services provided are offsetting the money spent on weed...

If they were smart, Colorado should take some of those millions and start hiring lobbyist in surrounding states to ensure legalization doesn't pass anywhere else.

More people are going to be vaping and eating it, so your point isn't really valid. I was at a concert a few weeks ago I saw only two people actually smoking, everyone else was vaping.

Why do people waive the flag, say 'Merica, say 'we are free' and all that when we really aren't?

I'm confused. Are you saying people can be impaired 48 hours after smoking pot? Or are you saying tests incorrectly say they are?

Because of the former, I'll just tell you you're wrong. I have pushed my intake to the limit in my younger days and nothing comes close to lasting 48 hours. That's absurd.

Also when other states see these millions in revenue, lower crime statistics including DUI and violent crime, they'll follow suit.

The entire northwest and California will have legal pot in 5 years IMO. Then it will catch on nationally even faster.

It's embarrassing and sad for the Southeast that we will again be behind the curve on something. We have some of the worst poverty and public education in the country and still will wait until 2030 or later.

Legalizing weed leads to less violent crime?

We'll see how murder rate in Southside Chicago changes if they legalize. Im guessing it doesnt.

I didn't say it lowered it everywhere, it went down slightly in Colorado post-legalization for whatever reason.

The point is more that mayhem didn't break out and people didn't become homocidal from ODing on the pot.

The lack of increase removes another argument people use who have absolutely no clue what marihuana effects are like.

Im not against legalization. Hell, in principle id legalize everything.

But not as long as we live in an entitlement state where bad decisions are ignored and a check is still handed out.

Welfare reform.

Then you can legalize whatever you want.
