Really proud to say I had mine today with an endoscopy and came out all clear. 29M with rectal bleeding and mushy stools for months. Apparently was gastritis and hemorrhoids. Also threw up blood at Mardi Gras and was leaking blood this past Tuesday. Rushed my late March appointment up to the fastest they could get me in which was today. I have been horrified the past few months thinking the worst even though the odds for myself were good.
If you’re having issues, don’t put it off. Talk to the doctor and get the scope!

Problem is insurance. Whether you're symptomatic or not colonoscopies aren't covered until you're 45+. Had one scheduled and was told it'd be $3500+ with my insurance, that's not doable for alot of young people.

If you type in "colonoscopy assist" there's a nationwide program that'll do them $1295 cash. I scheduled one in Metairie thru their site for $1295 out of pocket with biopsies and everything included

Mine was effectively an emergency. Before it became that, it was scheduled and I was trying to get it pre approved literally this week. When I called insurance, they said call the doctor. When I called the doctor they said call insurance.
I like our healthcare system and don’t mind paying but the method how things are billed is completely fricked.

That's why I canceled the one I had scheduled a year or so back. No one could tell me ahead of time how much it'd cost with my insurance. Even the doctor admitted that with "facility fees" and a possible "out of network anesthesiologist" it could be $5k+ even tho the colon doctor was in network

The inflection point in the huge cancer increase occurred in the second half of 2021. At the same time there were large and unusual reports of young healthy people dropping dead from heart attacks. Even more disturbing, children as young as seven and eight started dying in their sleep from apparent heart attacks.

I was told by my GI that everyone should be in network.

I'm 75 and I will never have a colonoscopy. I had two friends who were badly injured by that procedure. Every two years I order a Cologuard test to check for signs of cancer.

Sad part of the Cologuard test is that most insurance providers use that test as your colon cancer test putting you on the hook for more out of pocket costs if the Cologuard test comes back positive requiring a Colonoscopy as a follow up test.
Also, those testing companies love the fact that your insurance picks up most of the costs because the Cologuard test is actually more expensive than a colonoscopy. It also misses any precancerous polyps in the colon. The Cologuard test is really on a test for cancer and not something that can be used to prevent cancer by removing pre cancerous polyps.

Put me down for chemicals in our food, likely a pesticide used on crops.
Guessing fruit or some soft exterior crop without a skin to prevent the chemicals from being removed when consumed.
