College Graduation GIft Ideas....

The son of a very close friend of mine is graduating from college in a few weeks and I need some ideas for a good graduation present.
I am leaning toward a nice leather duffel/carry-on piece but not 100% sold on that idea. I've known the kid almost his entire life and want to do it right.
Oh, hookers and blow is out because that's his dad's gift.
TIA

Your idea is solid. I would've liked that gift.

That's a damn good dad.

Show the man you really care and love him.... Pay off his student debt

If there's two things you can never have enough of....

A nice suit to wear to his 1st interview

I like the nice suit, that would be really cool.

I can tell you that someone bought me a couple of pieces of luggage when I graduated and it is the only present that I actually still have...didn't think too much at the time, but quality luggage is something that I probably wouldn't have bought for myself, but has been used almost weekly for a couple of decades...
another thing is a good quality set of cooking pots...no one wants to spend the money on their own, but they are a damn nice gift and will last most of your life...

The suit thing is taken care of. He has already landed a job in NC.

A bottle of Dom and some cash.

If you're going that route (and it's a great idea) get him a Filson medium duffle bag.

I expect he will get a nice sum of cash, as he is the first from the family to graduate from college. That being said, I want it to be something that has a little more lasting value and not just lost in the shuffle, but the Dom idea is a good one.

Depending on the degree... For me I was business so I got a really nice business card holder with an ole miss and colonel reb logo on it. So maybe something with the school logo for his desk?
