It's alright.

I'd rather BVI or St. Maarten if you can swing it.

I have been to Belize, Cozumel, Cabo, Dominican Republic, St. Maarten, and St. Croix. Out of them all, I would highly recommend St. Maarten. This was the best place I have ever stayed in during my lifetime at a beach.

Looks like they market to honeymooners and all-inclusive folks. Red flag for me.

Get over to the BVIs or head farther east to St. Barth. Little harder to get to, but well worth it.

Congrats, sir!

How pricey were the drinks at La Samanna?

I have a feeling I'm going to need all-inclusive just because of my bar tab.

Got married on the island. Spent 7 days on coco plum caye. Very remote but nice. Definitely plan some diving and fishing trips. Beach is ok. You can snorkel right off the beach and catch lobsters and conch. Ask me anything.

1.What is there to do at night?
2. How is the food & drinks?
3. Can you fish from the island and do you need to bring your own fishing equipment (website says bring your own fly rod to fish from the island)?
4. Would you recommend it?

1.What is there to do at night?
Not much. I was there 10 years ago though. We just drank all night in the bar. There's no TV or Internet at all.
2. How is the food & drinks?
I hope you like fish, lobster, conch
3. Can you fish from the island and do you need to bring your own fishing equipment (website says bring your own fly rod to fish from the island)?
Definitely bring your rod. The reef is right off the beach. I had good luck bottom fishing.
4. Would you recommend it?
If you are open to remote and primitive its a once in a lifetime experience. Be sure to book some tours on the mainland.

Went to an all inclusive in Punta Cana on our honeymoon in June and absolutely LOVED it. Trying to make it back for our 1st anniv. Don't let the nay sayers fool you. The drinks were endless and the food was absolutely top notch where we went.

Most places have plenty of night life stuff to do but it's your honeymoon brah, you should already have your evenings taken care of.

Thanks for the information. Appreciate all the other suggestions, also. Think we're gonna pull the trigger on Coco Plum, remote and primitive sounds perfect to me.

I have too. you need to try Bermuda, by far my favorite (although st.maarten is running a very close second)

I've heard good things about Peter Island. It was an option but after the ring, wedding and in the process of buying a new house it's a little more than we're looking to spend.

This past summer, we boated out to Coco from Placencia for snorkeling the barrier reef.. ate our catch on a close by island. It's paradise out there.

Yeah, that's very true. It can be cost prohibitive and it sound like you're already dropping a pretty good chunk of change.

Also check out Xcalak Mexico. Went there on our honeymoon 14 years ago, head back in January. Just a little north of San Pedro, Belize.

Was just there. While I enjoyed it I won't go back. The places to eat at are limited. I prefer an island where I can get out and explore the culture. The room was outstanding and the food was only good for the the prices they charge.
