Lots of courses are mandatory. Most mainstream 18 year olds have no clue how to engage with people from other cultures or environments.

Being a libertarian progressive, I will also say that if you don't like Clemson or diversity, you should probably enroll in Steve Jones University.

Business majors in particular need this since they usually don't take social science classes that would help them go through life with a better understanding of humanity.

This isn't true any more since we already have a level of world government and it is going to increase. This is the world, not just the U.S. Also, there are plenty of other cultures within the U.S. that students need to learn about.

This isn't some fluke, this was a program set up with the assistance of highly educated faculty at Clemson.

Forcing diversity is the polite way of saying less white people is a good thing.

A good point. But part of that service is allowing the experts, the faculty of the college, to determine what is best for these students as far as learning. Obviously, they have correctly decided that social justice instruction is needed.

Hi. Resident engineer here. My profession is literally, not figuratively, the most socially inept there is. No amount of diversity training in college can fix a lack of social skills. It's called not having sh*tty parents.
