Will be in Baton Rouge for Christmas. Where is a great place to go see Christmas lights in Louisiana? We know of Natchitoches, but what about New Orleans or any smaller, plantation towns?

Ellendale in Houma used to go all out with the decorations and lights. One house used to get a live reindeer every year. Not sure if hey still do it now, this was a few years back.

Celebration in the Oaks in New Orleans City Park

Someone just shared this on my FB feed about the Messenger's Christmas Light Display in Denham Springs:

quote:

It's that time of the year again! We are excited to let everyone officially know that the "Messengers Christmas Land" will be returning this year!!! A few changes have been made so we would be able to continue this family tradition with everyone. One of the biggest changes is the location of the display. IT IS NO LONGER IN PLANTATION ESTATES. The display is now located at 9481 Prince Charles St. in Denham Springs. For those who are familiar with this area, this is right across the street from North Park off of Eden Church Road. With this location, North Park has graciously allowed for their parking lot to be used, so everyone will park across the street at North Park and walk across to the display. Also with people having to cross the street, law enforcement as also graciously agreed to donate their time to ensure the safety of the cross walk. To help with the flow of traffic Prince Charles St. will become a ONE WAY during the opening hours of the display; vehicles will come in through the south entrance and drive out through the north exit. There will also be signs to help guide drivers. Now to announce our opening dates for this Christmas season.... December 12th - 26th!!!! The times will remain the same, 6:00pm- 8:00pm!

In Kenner, there's a house on Lake Trail (near Power and Vintage) that gaslights that blink to music and you can tune your car radio to a station to hear the music playing. Also has two "live" interactive snowman, made of ice
