My son had it as an infant, seems to have outgrown the high fever but now has some other recurring inflammatory symptoms including episcleritis and occasional joint pain in his legs. We did a lot of diagnostics and the steroid treatments with only minor success.

Just started going to rheumatologist at Vanderbilt childrens in Nashville.

I am not in the medical field, just someone who researches (a lot) alternatives to traditional medications.

Vitamin D needs Magnesium for activation and metabolism. When I have more time I can link other info
Magnesium and Vitamin D

They make magnesium sprays and flakes for soaking so it’s easy for kids. Just make sure they’re quality. I like Ancient Minerals, which was recommended by an Oncologist who uses a lot of natural methods. The spray can burn a little sometimes so I would suggest spraying a little bit on the legs and working up their tolerance (or maybe spray the feet). If you have girls who are shaving their legs don’t let them spray right after shaving.

They could also soak their feet instead of doing a full bath soak.

I haven’t really looked at supplementing magnesium for little kids because mine are older but that info should be easy to find. Our pediatrician wouldn’t even talk to us about supplements because “they’re not regulated by the FDA” so I have researched and decided what I’m comfortable with for my kids. I also buy directly from health stores or reputable online companies.

Best wishes for your kids to feel better and stay well.

Yes! Getting our nutrients from natural sources like food and the sun is ideal but some people (probably way more than we think) are so depleted they really need to supplement. I won’t go on a tangent about how crappy our food is here in the US but that’s another concern.

Wanted to come here and express my gratitude to Stringed Instruments. We have been giving my child vitamin D at your advice and the advice of our pediatrician and my child has only had one, short lived fever and no missed days of school since. He used to run fevers of 104-105 regularly for 5-6 days and missed 25 days of school this year. It has tremendously changed his quality of life. I have come to believe he may have just been vitamin D deficient.

I don't know you but I can't tell you how appreciative I am of you for sharing your child's story with me. It has made a huge impact on my 5 year old's quality of life in the last 2 months. He is playing soccer multiple times a week, scoring goals, hanging out with his siblings and laughing all the time, and enjoying his life like a 5 year old should.

Sometimes this website is really great.
