Boss decided to lay me off with no notice last Wednesday. Merry Christmas to me, right?

Had a couple interviews Friday. No call backs that day but hopefully it's because of the holiday. Went ahead and applied for unemployment online just in case i dont get offered anything.

been camping craiglist, monster, and indeed. Trying my best to avoid working at a gas station until I find something else.

Will be using GI bill to start school as soon as my divorce is final. In the mean time gotta get somethign coming in to make those lawyer payments.

Here's to optimism.

Feel for you dude, I went through the same thing last year. It was the first time ever for me. Its pretty odd, its actually better when searching for a job if you have job hopped throughout your career. I was with the same company for 25 years until they shutdown and I went 2 months without even a nibble of course it was this time of year when hiring tends to be slow. Good luck man.

It's a safety net you have paid into for years.

If you need it, use it to pay expenses while you get your arse back up.

Best of luck sir

frick man, some self assessment may be in order as well

I'm just saying m, after so many mornings waking up with a sore a-hole and a black dildo next to you, maybe someone isn't breaking in and sodomizing you, you may just be ducking yourself in the arse, ya know?

Trump evicted Obama back to the south side of Chicago so you'll be back at work in no time.

I mean they laid off everyone but 2 people with no warning. Ive been separated 13 months. NC requires 12. just waiting on custody to be decided.

I've never not been offered a job I applied for before, but sure thing.

eta: everyone but 2 = 4/6. and those 2 worked there a lot longer than me.

You've paid into unemployment for the last 31 years, don't be ashamed to use it. Send out as many resumes as possible and get someone who is more in tune with searching for a job to make your resume is up to current format. It may seem like a while since it's the holiday season but keep plugging along and something will come your way.

This. Some people will say "entitlement" frick that crap. Use the money. Beware of the tax burden of the money. Sounds like you would be open to relocate. Start fresh.

My life is fricking good, and fresh starts excite me.

Good luck.

It was such a shitty time for him to lay you off, if nothing was going on. Most people won't start hiring again until after the new year. Hope everything works out for you and you end up with a better job than where you were, sooner rather than later. Goodluck.
