Sorry to see that no one has replied to your post. Please be sure that your child is followed regularly by a pediatrician or Family doctor and that you share these concerns with him. The way you have worded it makes it difficult to determine whether he does see one or not. If he is diagnosed/the doc is concerned, they can get you referrals to Early Steps programs and early social interactions and therapy which have been shown to really help with how affected kids are able to interact with the rest of the world later on in life.

This x 1000. I was planning to respond to his post, but got caught up reading the entire thread. My son was diagnosed to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) early this year by a pediatric neurologist. She referred us to one of 2 specialized therapy centers/schools in BR and he's been in the school since about late January. He's very smart, high functioning, outgoing and is expected to go to regular school, but he has some behavioral issues (hitting, biting, angry outbursts, etc.). His program is very intensive and we've seen some progress, but it's slow. Thank God my wife has great health insurance that covers the entire cost of therapy, cause the place is a freaking fortune (100s of thousands of dollars). Thankfully we caught it early (diagnosed at 3 years old, turned 4 in March) and hope to have it more or less under control by the time he's ready for kindergarten. Without the early diagnosis, I don't know where we'd be with this. I wish we could have caught it even sooner because I feel like our attempts to discipline him (as much as you can discipline 3 year old) may have caused him more problems/trauma since we didn't know he had the issues he does.
