Anyone heading to the saints game needs to take an alternate route

Apparently a car went over around 3am and they haven't found the vehicle or passengers yet

The water isn't that cold...hovering around 60. You can survive in that for a long time. They may have all perished, but I don't think it was the temp that did them in.

From NOLA.com

He said a motorist called police around 3 a.m. and reported debris in the roadway. Causeway police then noticed about 100 feet of railing missing, Dufrechou.

Causeway camera operators searched through video and found footage that showed "headlights in the distance, then disappear."

Using sonar, Jefferson Parish authorities around 5 a.m. identified a vehicle under the water. "We believe it's some kind of truck," said Dufrechou.

This has happened somewhat frequently on the southbound side in recent months.

Lol at saying 60 degree water is not cold. Hypothermia would set in quickly surving would be difficult over an hour or 2.

It's crazy to think back when there was only one span on the Causeway and you had one lane going north, one lane going south. The only safety precaution was that you were required to turn on your headlights.

My father was nearly killed on the causeway 2 weeks ago when he was stopped in traffic and a car slammed into him from behind.

My dad gets taken away in an ambulance and the other person simply gets a ticket for no insurance (dude lives on Royal st in Nola).

At 3 in the morning, probably drunk and texting. Deadly combo.
