Oddly enough, a lot of violence lately down there is a result of two affiliates of the same cartel fighting amongst themselves for territory

In some places, cartels have done more for their community than the government. So yeah...

The Mexican drug cartels, specifically, are a fascinating horror show, but I could never watch videos of humans being tortured and murdered. "You dance with the devil, the devil don't change, the devil changes you."

There are just some things you can't unsee.

Pretty common. Seems like the Gulf Cartel, Tijuana Cartel, Juarez Cartel, etc... in-fight and will switch alliances at times but the Sinaloan vs Zetas stays pretty constant.

There's used to be this awesome website ran by one of the cartels that they posted all their videos on but it got shut down. I've seen some wild shite with chainsaws and dogs but the worst are always the slow knife beheadings

but I had no idea some of the stuff they did was on par or worse than ISIS.

And it's been going on much, much longer.

I used to look at narco's blog (blog del narco before translating the webpage). Their government lets it happen and our government pretends it doesn't happen.

I thought the zetas weren't actually cartels. May be wrong but I was told by some texicans that the zetas and the cartels fought a lot over territory where he was from.

Serious question.

They had one where they're chopping off this guy's legs with a damn axe. Absolutely insane

I've actually seen that video. But, yeah, I usually just browse the descriptions. Some are so insanely demented, though, that your curiosity gets the better of you, which you usually come to regret.

No idea. I started out reading about MS/13 and government death squads in central america and then got sucked into the mexican cartels.

They started out as part of the Mexican Army....then became the enforcement group of the Gulf Cartel....and then split from the Gulf Cartel to become their own cartel.

I can't. I can read the descriptions and look at some pictures, but the screaming is just too much. Although I do think it's important that we know this kind of crazy shite is going on across the border -- and you really only understand what "crazy shite" really means until you start browsing the descriptions. It's one thing to say there's a video of the zetas using an axe to cut off a rival's legs while he's screaming and rolling around in the dirt vs. actually reading about it/seeing pics/videos.

Yeah 6 in one hand half a dozen in the other. They're all the same shitty people and we need to stop them from flooding into our country somehow. We will never fully get rid of them bc it's just so easy to fund across the borders. Head figures never even have to come here to control an area in the US.

We've spent a trillion+ fighting impossible wars in the Middle East when we have these frickers right next to us (and some are already here). How does that make any sense?
