Yes, that is exactly my point.

These freaks don't mess with the patients whose family members pop in everyday.

Yes, unfortunately there are times when taking care of an elderly person does become too much for the family. It happens ...

That’s what 95% of those cheap, home healthcare workers look like. Most of them don’t even have a high school diploma, it is amazing that we should expect them to be responsible for anything…. Much less how to treat another person with respect and dignity

Now you gotta pay the big bucks to have a skinny, educated white woman care for your old relatives

Lady here was in a nursing home. Her husband had the house made handicap accessible and hired sitters so she could go home. Her son (stepson of the husband of twenty years) told the nursing home she couldn't go home (without authority to do so). But, the nursing home would not let her leave. They threatened to have the husband arrested. Finally, Sheriff Prator personally called the nursing home, told them he was sending down investigators if they did not let the woman go home as she wanted. She finally got to go home.

Trap some wild hogs get me some syrup and take her shoes off.

I could keep her alive for a while with a couple tourniquets and I bet I could make IVF if I had to.

A former neighbor investigated NHs for the state AG. He said never go to a NH, the abuse/neglect was constant. Hopefully when i get to that point, I've be able to take a handful of pills and take the long nap.

We, as a country, need to have a discussion about end of life choices. When a person is diagnosed with a terminal condition, the doc should write a script for something the dying person can take and leave the earth with dignity. In my small rural community recently three folks, near the end of life, have shot themselves in the head, they should be able to check out by making a choice to take a pill.

It boils down to hiring practices and the culture of the company that manages these places. Facilities that are for profit/revenue driven, penny pinching and operate on state minimum staffing levels often attract the dregs of society to care for these people. CMS has tried to regulate these types of things out of facilities but all they have done over the last 25 years is make it harder for smaller operations to stay afloat. More facilities have been bought out into the for-profit model by large chains and created more environments where this type of thing happens more frequently.

You have to show up at random times to keep those that harm on their toes.

You'll be doing a favor to the ones that don't get visitors.

I don’t behavior up to and including this past some nursing assistants and/or PCA’s.

Sometimes I can just feel the hatred radiating from them.

Some of them really do hate us.

People are people though, and there are many multiples more that are kind and loving.

We have something like this already called in home hospice where they are doped up on opiate derivatives for a week or two, and if still not dead, dope them up more, if you know what I mean.

In fairness to the young healthcare worker, she probably beats her eight children like that too.
