Car dealerships - what's it like to work at one?

I'm sitting here waiting for some maintenance, and I am getting weird vibes from the employees. Felt this way in other dealerships. Any generalities that anyone who has spent significant time in one of these places can share?

The guys seem really nervous, for example. Plus I saw a guy touch one of the women on the shoulder as he passed by, which seemed weird to me.

Why is that werid. Are you not friends with any of your coworkers?

Best Christmas party I ever went to was for a car dealership. Drunk car salesmen and the women that love them. Each one trying to out-ego the next. So much douche, and so many stereotypes were proven correct that night.

They all got nothing to do but have to walk around really fast and act like they are so busy. They have to ask you what they can do for you while they do nothing for you. Touching women on the shoulder is a sign of domination. You should go touch one of the guys on the shoulder and ask them who their daddy is.

One man's story

It's a long read but really kinda cool. A guy who had the same question as you but a little more curiosity.

If you hang around long enough you end up cussing like a drunken sailor..

I always envisioned everyone living a life similar to that of Gregor Samsa.

go ask one of the ladies to sit on your lap in the backseat of one of the sedans, you need to do a roof height check on the vehicle.
