Oh, I know y'all are out there. That's the real danger.

Mental health is a serious issue.

well if your car gets stolen out of your driveway you will get no sympathy for me... should have put it in a secure garage..

I don't have a garage to put a car in, so I just ride a bike back and forth to work since I can put it inside easily.... I'm not going to get some car that someone could possibly steal and use it to drive around fricked up and possibly hurt someone or to facilitate other crimes.... that would be irresponsible of me, when I don't need that car and do just fine without it!!

Dumb. He never said he left it unlocked.

I'd bet his door was unlocked. Just last year, the local police department seized over 200 stolen guns from criminals who obtained them from unlocked cars.

While many people would say that a car makes their life more convenient, I don't know many who would say that a gun makes their life convenient unless they live off of the land. We both know you don't do that.

So, how else is a car like a gun?

People who break into cars regularly don't need cars to be unlocked.

i don't need a car parked out in the driveway that I never use that is a target for PoS that may steal it for other crimes or wreck into others with, but even though I don't use it to get back and forth to work and feed my family, I still wouldn't mind have it for the peace of mind it provides.

Maybe if we could target the ones that would steal my vehicle and set the penalty at maybe 25 years hard labor for attempted car theft, maybe I wouldn't have to think twice about giving up my peace of mind parked in my drive way. But instead since I don't use that car to put groceries on the table, it's an un-needed luxury that I feel I shouldn't chance some low-life depriving me of and using it to deprive others who also don't deserve the low-life's actions.

Unfortunately cars are a very needed commodity for most in contemporary America. Unlike handguns.

Btw, I noticed you used "peace of mind" like others. Are you scared daily? Serious question.

well go figure, someone doesn't have the same value system as you... I mean sorry I don't put the same value on a car as you do.

For some people the peace of mind of a vehicle living out in the country is at a premium in the case of emergency to get to the hospital or wherever.... some people living in an urban environment may put the same premium on the peace of mind having a 9mm always at an arms reach as often as legally possible.

I'm sure the sorry thug pieces of shite would like for that peace of mind to be eroded as much as possible and hope liberals keep asking telling people they don't think they need a pistol.

And that really what my questions to 7th wards were about but these threads never stay on track with the nut jobs on here.

I was just asking him if he was afraid of criminals or was frequently in a bad place.

And that's all it's been. It seems you live a little more scared than I do. Do you live in a bad area?

no I'm not scared daily. In fact I'm probably one of the least of the worry wart types around here when it comes to environments that most would be weary about fwiw...

And also I don't own any guns.

But I do in fact understand completely the peace of mind some have my knowing they have a way to protect themselves and more so loved ones by way of a firearm..... and for someone to downplay that peace of mind due to possible actions by some thug pos is ignorant.... if someone cared about stolen guns on the street, they would put any anger and effort and direct it where it's needed, stopping people for being a theif.
