When I was in college I responded to a bulletin board ad on LSU's campus to help some elderly couple in their yard. I was a tall, strong, physically attractive young buck and got their house in ship shape. You likely won't get results as good as they did, but you might find some success this way.

I used to enjoy working in the yard, until I hurt my back.

Pulling weeds.

No suggestions but...

My neighbor is a landscape (technician? Artist?) and I would pay him to have his crew weed and mulch my beds twice a year. Last fall, he butchered my azaleas, camellias, and every other shrub in my beds and charged me $500 because he had so many trash bags full of limbs and cuttings. I paid him and told him that was the last time he would touch my yard. Wife found out he needed some quick cash for a 4wheeler.

The wife and I weeded and mulched all our beds two weeks ago and my neighbor kept coming outside to eyeball us.

Go to the local Police Department and see if anyone needs community service hours. I am sure they get in touch or know ho you have to talk to to find someone to make it happen.

Free work for you AND your yard work gets done.

Also high school students in clubs normally need community service hours.

I'll do it. $250 a day.. I'm reliable and honest. I'll come once a week and weed your flower beds.

The messicans in the Home Depot parking lot are a minimum of $150 a day and will rarely put in a full days work. FYI.

Any [serious and helpful] suggestions?

As others have already said, Messicans is the answer.

Post on craigslist, someone will answer who knows someone who knows someone. The work is generally very good for the price and the crime rate is very low.
