Been a few years since i went to Cancun and the wife and I are going for the weekend. I remember many places taking US dollars but what is the best place to exchange dollars to peso. I recall being told to avoid the airport exchange places. Just curious if anyone has had a recent trip and can recall the best way to handle this.

TIA

check your credit cards...some will work in either country and have a favorable exchange rate...

ATM machines are the best rate exchanges

plus Mexican ATMs make you feel rich.

We were there for Spring Break. $1 US was worth 13 pesos. Most everywhere would deal in both currencies.

buy as much as possible on credit cards; they'll negotiate a far better rate than you'll find.

don't sweat the ATM/peso conversion. Just get out $100 or so and don't obsess over how much you could have gotten.
