Have some regular opportunities to spend time here for free, but I'm having trouble digging it. Can someone tell me some nice things about the area, and maybe offer some tips for good places to eat and drink that aren't in a casino? I want to like it but it's getting more and more difficult....

You're an hour from New Orleans.

Yeah the beaches suck. Do you like to gamble? I'd imagine that there is some decent fishing around there.

If it's real early in the morning and you need to get to NOLA, take the Interstate.

Don't want to run into the back of a truck by the Rigolets on ole Hwy 90.

That's the problem. I'm not much into gambling, and not really into fishing. Just want to chill out and relax, but I swear it feels like BR with some brown, stagnant water and brown sand nearby. Not to mention the local 'clientele'.

i mean.... they have casinos?

the beaches smell like shite, but if youre into getting schwasted and judging trashy people, it can be a lot of fun.

Only thing that comes to mind for me is "The Dock" in Gulfport. Similar vibe as LuLu's, but may not really be worth the drive from Biloxi. Sorry, that's all I've got.

These comments are funny, and expected. Keep em coming. But I really am hoping someone from the area can pump some sunshine for me. I'm gonna be here pretty frequently so I gotta make the best of it. Ocean Springs seems kinda cool. That's all I got so far.

If you want to chill and relax, Ocean Springs is your place. You can stay at a casino hotel in Biloxi and spend the day in OS. It's a five minute drive from the hotels.

Kids ? Margaritaville's great for the family, still fun without kids, but more of a family destination.

Other than that if you don't like the gambling, fishing, or mediocre beaches I don't think there's much for you there, unless you like minor league baseball or golf.

seriously, we get free nights often at the casino. we do all their direct mail... literally the only thing to do is get drunk and laugh with your buddies at the beach version of people of walmart.

The best restaurants aren't in casinos. What are you looking for?
