Can I legally have a car towed when partially on property?

I've had chronic issues with people parking in public street spaces, but with one or both of their wheels hopped up over the curb and onto what used to be my lawn. It's a giant mud pit at the moment and before I invest the time and money into new sod I want to make sure I can tow these assholes if they continue to mess my shite up. This is in Houston.

Slash their tires and light their car on fire.

Is it one car specifically or random people?

Are you sure the tires over the curb are on your property? It is very rare that back of curb is the property line. Better check where your property end before you go calling tow trucks.

Is that part of the lawn your property or city property. You could put posts in the ground at the curb that won't allow a car to get in the grass without banging up there car.

Let's assume it's not. I bet you hate when kids ride bikes down the street too.

I am not sure how the rules in you locality read if a car is only partially on your property...

honestly, you could probably get the answer from any towing company...

I personally would exhaust all other measures (i.e. traffic cones or a sign), as you are going to piss a good number of folks off and every one of them knows exactly where you live....

Generally your property line is 25 or 30 feet from the centerline of the street, if they aren't that far I wouldn't tow them.
These aren't the only distances but the most common.

I was a party chief for several survey companies in Houston for 18 years just so you know where the info is coming from.

Get 6 or 7 pieces of 1' rebar.
Nail it into the grass along the curb
?

Thanks. I think the street ROW is 60 feet, which they are likely inside of. Maybe I'll find some prickly weeds to grow there.

Generally, if they are just up on the curb with 1 side of the car they will be in the Right of Way....so not your property. But they are violating parking laws and I know a Dallas cop would write them a ticket at the very least. I own rental property and have to deal w/ parking issues from time to time.
