Can anyone find a video or audio of the commercial for Thunderbird Beach?

My Google and YouTube seem to suck...

I have a friend who says the place never had a commercial.

Thunderbird Beach is best left as a paradise in the mind.

On a different note, long time no see. I missed you "Teachers Unite" thread last summer.

Yeah, it honestly slipped my mind. I made a huge change in October. I no longer teaching in ebr or in a brick and mortar school. I teach on-line! Nice raise and no more stupidity from the 15%, the parish, and the state. It is almost too good to be true!

There’s a FB page titled “who remembers Thunderbird beach” (or something similar to that). There were commercials. I still remember the jingle. The FB page has several old photos. If you’re the nostalgic type, it’s worth checking out.

I can attest to the fact that they absolutely did! The musical jingle from the commercials went:

"Thunderbird Beach!.....More fun in the sunshine....
Thunderbird Beach!....More swimming and rides....
More tubing, camping, boating, fishing... come down to Thunderbird Beach"

Not familiar with this little piece of paradise. What happened to it?

Lafayette had Carnival beach many moons ago but it was no paradise.

It got turned into a subdivision. I can't imagine parents bringing kids there knowing what was going on there as a teenager.

Money Hill S/D north of Abita Springs has this honor as well.

No it was not. It was one of the first outings for my sister and me when we moved here from Phoenix in 78. It has haunted me ever since. A huge turd floated by us while standing in the mucky water. Im sure Thunderbird Beach was no less clsssy.

I think the last line was something like "come sink your feet in clean, sandy beach. C'mon to Thunderbird Beach!"

Many, many 14/15 year olds got drunk for the first time at Thunderbird beach after the last day of school. Like blackout drunk. It was the thing to do back then.
