Cajun Navy was interesting when it wasn't some official or unofficial organization, just people in boats who went to help

The worst thing that happened to it was that they gave it a name. Now people want to make it out as an organized group and claim ownership of it, rather than letting it be what it started off as - a grassroots effort of people helping others in a time of great need.

They don't realize that organizing this is going to open them up to some a-hole suing them over bullshite.

You can't sue an idea, name that idea and some young enterprising lawyer will see an opportunity.

I saw fleurty girl is selling HOU DAT t-shirts and part of the proceeds are going to the Cajun Navy. My first thought was who are those donations actually going to and how are you verifying they are being used properly. Why not donate to something like the red cross?

I also saw another guy trying to start up the "Redfish Nation". If you want to help, awesome, but these brandings are getting ridiculous.

I believe that's Clyde Cain's group.

The shirts are $28, with $10 going to relief efforts. The T-shirt Queen of New Orleans can't produce a shirt for less than $18?

Clyde Cain is Cajun Navy 2016. He's running donations through a church in Watson, I believe.

Jon Bridger is running Louisiana Cajun Navy. He's out of Lafayette or somewhere nearby.

Edit: I've got the names and organizations reversed above. Cain is Louisiana Cajun Navy. Bridger is CAJUN Navy 2016. Sorry for causing confusion.

My people are bad at punctuation, rendering of possessive nouns, capitalization, and pluralization.

I love going down the bayou and seeing bait shop signs that read things like "Capt. Allens'" and "Mullets, shrimps, Cracked crab."

I think you've got the groups backwards - check the message posted in the OP.

Here is a pic of Clyde Cain wearing a t-shirt bearing the same "LA Cajun Navy" logo as the website linked a few posts up.

I just read an Advocate online story. They interviewed they guy who was "shot at". His last name is Billiot. Now it turns out that he HEARD gunshots. So maybe he wasn't actually being shot at.

Brummy, you're right. I had them listed wrong. I'll edit my post.

Your scenario is much more likely than looters opening fire to run off rescue boats.

The governor just said that all Cajun Navy will be supplied fuel by the state of Louisiana. He did not say where to claim said fuel.
