It is pretty sick how Nagin could talk about chocolate city like that and there was no national outrage and the local media just laughed it off.

It was a huge story at the time and everyone was laughing at his ignorance

His family moved to the Dallas area (Frisco, I think) after the storm, but a lot of other people were also displaced.

He took a vacation to Jamaica about two months after the storm. That pissed a lot of people off.

NetMethods (Mark St Pierre) paid for Nagin to go to HI in Dec., '04. They also paid for Nagin's Jamaica vacation in Nov., '05, about two months after Katrina.

Last night, WWL-TV made it sound like they'd be broadcasting live all day. They're giddy with anticipation!

I believe that was also Mark St Pierre.

Technically, I think Greg Meffert actually booked the trips using a credit card issued by NetMethods.

I agree, Scruffy. Politicians should be held to a much higher standard than citizens in this respect.

I think coverage starts at 10.

His family complaining that they are broke is a joke.

Word is that he turned down a deal that would have given him 5-7 years but his arrogant arse thought he could beat the charges.

Guy on the news this morning said 2-5 years. What a dumbass.

That just goes to show you how much the media can spin a topic or issue.

That they should. Corruption, theft from constituents, bribes, they should all warrant the death penalty if you are holding a public office, any public office.

Hell, we could get rid of corruption in LA real quick.

He should be comfortable. Prison is a lot like a chocolate city, just with bars and walls.
