A new GMC Sierra SLT is close to 50k sticker price. Even if I were to get them down to 40k I would still save 7k as this one is priced at 33k.

Yes and you're also getting a brand new vehicle instead of one a dealership will make money on X2 in a short amount of time.

Yeah man. Just make sure you look closely at new ones before you buy a certified pre-owned. If it's a $50k truck new, you can probably get it for 37-38k.

Also again please don't get suckered into buying the ext warranty on a new vehicle.
The salesman WILL try to get you to buy it. Insisting that repairs are expensive blah blah blah.
He/she is getting an incentive if you buy the warranty.
If something is messed up on your new truck, it will either break very early on, before the warranty is up. Or it will break after the extended warranty is up

Everyone is comfortable at different levels of risk. I bought my wife a slightly used minivan, but after I took care of some unknown issues, I lost my savings. I typically buy new because I know nothing about cars, and want to reduce my risk of a lemon. Regardless, those slightly used vehicles were unloaded by someone for a reason. Most were rentals, and treated as such.

No buying used is a smart financial decisions. Don't have to put a big chunk down that could be working better for you in the market. Stupid to put a bunch of money that is a depreciating asset. So is you put a bunch down to not be upside down in a new vehicle, then you wasted money that could put you in a positive return. Of be upside down in if you don't with me. Buying used solves both of those issues generally.

There's always 3 people in these threads that paid 4K for an extended warranty on a 15k vehicle and tell everyone else how bad they are.
If a random guy buys a 40k new Sierra truck to keep for 6 years and extends the bumper to bumper warranty from 36k miles to 100k miles for 1500$ it is usually worth it.

God I'll get smited for this, yes vehicles aren't a asset, but full size truck shopping is different. At the end of the day if it's a smart purchase you shouldn't lose much. Borrow money? Of course someone will lend it, not give it away. That's life. But if you're looking at a truck like this either buy a good looking 02, or buy new. These trucks are becoming an investment.

No it's not. Breakdown usually starts in between 150-200k miles.
Save your $2000 to get your AC fixed during this time. You'll thank me later

I'm saying it because best case situation you're paying for the comfort of certified. If a certified vehicle has 20k miles they'll give you a 36,000 mile warranty on major components. Guess what that 6 mo -1 yr old vehicle was sold with a 100k warranty.

More people than not will have 1500$ or more worth of repairs covered under a bumper to bumper warranty by 100k miles. If you are spending 40000$ on a vehicle and plan on keeping it it 100k, it makes perfect financial sense to get a warranty on it. The more expensive the vehicle, the costlier the parts and labor.

They don't decrease the factory warranty just because it's used. If it came with 100K warranty the 2nd 3rd 4th owner gets that warranty no matter who they buy it from.

The ext warranty is a scam man. I don't know how else to tell you that. It is a sucker bet. It's like taking insurance on the black jack table.

People still don't get it man. Even when you tell them this, they still fall for the "oh it's only 15 bucks more per month added onto your monthly payments"
