Never purchased pre owned before. Looking at gently used 2016/2017 sedans

Found one i really like and its a 2017 with 19,000 miles. Is that too many miles for a one year old car? Would that scare you off?

Just seems like a lot of miles.

You're trying to buy a used car and you're worried about the first 19k miles. Not being an arse but this is going to be an ordeal for you

Why are you looking? Get your husband to do the legwork.

Ask how fat the previous owner was.

yes, that is a lot of miles for one year...but not a lot in the scheme of things.

if you think about it, you can't put that many miles on a vehicle without being on the road a lot, so those have to be mostly highway miles.

probably owned by a traveling salesman or something like that.

It was a courtesy car for the dealership. I seriously don't know. Would 19k miles scare you off?

Car fax will show if it was a rental, accidents, etc.

Years matter more than miles. I'd buy a 2016 with 42k for the same price that I'd buy a 2014 with 20k

Car fax is clean. It was a rental for one year. No accidents or maintenance

There are a bunch of fricking idiots in this thread.

A 2017 Maxima might have been sold in late 2016, and 19k miles wouldn't be that much. if you are really worried about it, tell the dealer you want to take it one drive out for a night and go pay a mechanic 60 bucks to put it on a rack and do an inspection. If you still have a cold scrotum, go buy a new one.

19k miles on a courtesy car sounds a little sketchy. I imagine people treat courtesy cars equal or worse than they treat rental cars. And that would make those 19k miles city miles, not highway miles.

Depending on the vehicle, condition, maintenance records, and price though it could be a good deal.

ETA: I see it is a Maxima. That means a bunch of people driving Altimas and Sentras were ragging the frick out of the Maxima while getting their service work on their 4 bangers done.

Get it checked out by a mechanic and if it is a good price for your budget go for it, assuming you like Maximas. Factory warranty still has you covered for several years.

It's a great deal and a clean car fax. Been on the lot since July so I can probably get them down even more

How much they want for it?

How many miles do you in a year?

For someone that does ~8K mi/yr, thats still another 2 years of bumper to pumper warranty.

Good deals to be made a bit South of you Dallas on gently used 16/17s:

Go Jaguar, they've got nine lives.

I wouldn't venture into the used car market for a while.
