The OAT is 27 at the wall of my house. About five degrees lower as you move away.

All good. Pier and beam house. I run water through my pipes every few hours instead of dripping. Got up at 4:00 am to run water through my lines. Will do so occasionally during the day since temp will remain below freezing. All good.

Pex won’t bust but can still freeze and leave you with frozen water pipes, right?

I didn't listen and admit my dumbassery. Didn't drip hot, so we have cold, but not hot water.

Pier & Beam house. Dripped pipes all night. North facing spigot trickled back down copper pipe and froze/ice cycled the outside of the pipe. I redirected the water with a hose. Some of the pipe is exposed but have since wrapped the best I could. Worry level is moderate, dripping everything for time being. Water is freezing almost instantly.

Live on Bayou Bonfouca in Slidell, wind is freaking whirling.

I DIY because it’s almost impossible to mess up.

They can still freeze but start expanding before freezing solid and leaves the interior kinda mushy. Takes all of a few minutes of water flow to free up any accumulated ice and back to wide open.

Whoever the plumber was when my house was built is a moron.. They set up the hot water pipes to go to the bathrooms direct and the HW pipes that go to the kitchen sink last.. So it takes the tub about 15 seconds to get hot and the kitchen sink about 2 minutes.. What sense is that? I know first world problems... So far no pipe problems in Metairie..

One line in the house frozen. Cold water line in the kitchen sink. Pier and beam.

It was dripping over night (as was hot water). Cold seized, hot kept chugging.

This same line froze and busted in the big freeze 2 years ago. Plumber said he replaced it with pipe that wouldn’t bust again, so here’s hoping.

You won’t know if you have busted pipes until they defrost

so far so good.
tonite will be the test as it won’t get above freezing at all today. Very old drafty house on a well with exposure everywhere. I switched to rolls of floor underlayment to wrap this time and it seems to be working well

we are going to do laundry all night tonite to help keep the water moving

Double wide with Brick skirt.

Turned a vent to blow underneath. Blocked off cast iron vents with a cardboard insert.

Could probably sleep under there. My cold water runs warm at first.
