She feels safe driving the Tahoe

Ugh. This is the attitude that led to every soccer mom hurling down the road in 7000 pound Excursions while texting their tennis instructor. There's a neighbor of mine who drives a z71 Suburban with a 6inch lift - necessary to pick her kids up from private school.

Wife test drove both and said she liked the Tahoe because it was more like driving a truck than car

I know the Buick name is not hip or cool but they make a damn good product.

It sounds like the Enclave would fit your needs the best. The new Buicks are nice.

It seems the concensus is 50/50.

I have a 7 month old kid, so interior durability is definately a concern.

Cargo space is a big deal too. More than likely 3rd row down most of the time, and will be used to haul my kids room on trips.

I have a 4wd F150 , so she definately does not need off road capabilities and I'll be damned if she ever tows a trailer.

An adult can't sit comfortably in the back seat of the enclave either.

The Enclave is best in class, by far.

Between those two, especially a 12 or 13 Tahoe, the Enclave is the better choice.

The Pilot has a poor offset crash rating. I wouldn't consider it.

I can sympathize with you here. I have almost been nailed by a few of those fricking gigantic new Infinity SUVs.

She only has the Tahoe because it used to be mine. When I got my company vehicle, we sold her Hyundai Santa Fe for profit and kept the Tahoe, so she got it by default and grew to like it.

Women like fullsize SUVs, especially if they are small in stature. Plus, they all drive like a car now.

If the Expedition was ever a consideration, but you were afraid of the ride, consider the Navigator. I'm telling you, I never knew they rode that smoothly or were that quiet.

Budget will be around 40k.

I could probably get a lightly used Tahoe for around 30k, and the Enclaves seem to MSRP around 38 from what I am seeing.

I didn't mean to sound like a dick - I drive a Yukon for no good reason.

Did not know that. Cross that off my suggestions list.

Not at all, it is an epedimic around Shreveport.

I see new Suburbans and Tahoes with 6" lifts and 35" tires being driven by 5ft tall soccer moms daily.

the interiors on enclave will be equally as durable as the tahoe. same damn company, same materials. buick may actually be a little nicer leather as buick is more of a premium brand. if you have kids, your car is gonna have some extra wear and tear. get leather seats and rubber floormats

cargo space in back of encalve is about same as a tahoe with 3rd row in. neither fits a damn thing back there.

enclave is definitely a better vehicle for most wives due to driving characteristics and gas mileage imo.
