Thank god. On a cop's salary there are few places in the city limits he can afford and lets be honest, those people hate cops so they aren't ever going to become one.

Good. The supporters of this bullshite couldn't produce a single fact showing the requirement did anything. The only ONLY reason they wanted it was to pack the PD with black officers. That isn't a reason. That's racism.

What would you say to economic incentives? Bonus pay for officers who reside in the city limits.

It would be a sad day if the BRPD residency requirement happened just because of this idiot. You can't have an effective police department in a city if you limit the people you can hire.

Pretty much anywhere in a good school district is going to be more than they can afford, anywhere else & they can't afford private school.
Bonus pay is not going to cover what is needed to raise a family.

They do have a program like this already, but you have to live in a higher crime area. IE you can't live in the all white neighborhood inside the city limits.

Hypothetically let's say that this requirement passed. And over time all of the cops that live in Livingston and Ascension left the force. If all of the openings and new hires were replaced by nothing but white guys from Zachary, does anybody think that Gary and friends would be OK with that?

Hell no. They were disturbingly transparent about the fact that they intended it to make the force more black. The fact that the last two Academy classes were 75% non-white wasn't enough for them.

This is one of Sharon Weston Broome's main goals so if she wins EBR mayor next month...this will not go away quietly.
