I drive by this sketchy looking joint everyday on the way to work. It used to be a bank. Then some dude decided to open a gold buying/pawn shop in it and well... big shocker. He eventually started fencing a bunch of Home Depot's shite.

It's oddly in a fairly well-to-do part of Airline. I guess the plan was to get as close to his source of stolen goods as possible. Should have moved the base of operations waaaaaaay down north Airline and it might have been a little more under the radar.

Yea, that used to be a teachers federal credit union. my office was near that location, but we ave since moved. I always found that location to be out of norm for where pawn shop are generally located, but fencing Home depot crap now seems logical....

Saw that in the news. I always wondered about Xotic. He had those big trucks with smoothies advertisements on them before he moved up airline from Pville into the Pawn business.
Shame. Shame got caught up in that shite looking like easy money.

I don't feel sorry for him. Just the family and kids.

The bar for "well to do" is pretty low for Airline in the BR metro.

Yep, but the ones that are good at it know what they are doing and don't sell the good stuff. My friend has made many millions in the rare coins did rid the business. People bring them in, he rapes them and they take what he offers. Then he markets them in a real exchange and gets top dollar, or keeps them. Just like with many businesses, the store front is just a small part if their real money making.
